Project Manager Quality Adjustment

Learn the concept, see how it is used in the simulation, and understand what the result tells you as the Project Manager.

The Project Manager does more than appear on the team. Each week the PM performs a quality check that can reduce the team's accepted production when defects are found, or increase progress when the PM contributes positively.

Project Manager quality adjustment
Look here each week: the Quality Adjustment appears on the Project Manager strip above the team resource cards.

Negative PM result

PM throws −3

This represents a quality check finding 3 defective selected objects. Those three objects do not count as accepted project progress, so 3 is deducted from the team's production result.

Positive PM result

PM throws +4

A positive green value means the Project Manager has helped the team and contributes 4 accepted objects to progress. Four is added to the production result.

Simple example26 Resource Objects − 3 Defects = 23 Accepted ObjectsIf the PM result were +4 instead, 26 + 4 would give 30 accepted objects.
Why this mechanic exists

It represents the reality that completed work is not automatically accepted work. Quality problems can reduce usable output, while effective project management can sometimes help remove blockers or contribute to delivery.
